It was finally announced today that Interlace Systems will be acquired by Oracle. For the most part, we've know that this was going to happen, but we weren't able to make it public until today's announcement. While it is disappointing that the deal isn't the financial windfall that the Ariba-Trading Dynamics acquistion was, it is probably the best situtation we could have been in. It's hard to sell when you're a small startup, and now we'll have a lot more resources at our disposal.
Personally, I think that this presents some interesting opportunities and a much needed break. Now that I will be working for a big company, I'm more likely not going be putting in the startup hours, which should make more opportunities to spend time with people. Of course, I have to see how things pan out in the next few months to see if Oracle ends up being the right place for me.
